16 November 2019 – Two-colour Brioche basics

10.30 – 3.30 including buffet lunch and light refreshments during the class

Come and learn the basic stitches of brioche knitting as we work through the techniques used in this simple two-colour brioche scarf.

During the class we will make a two colour brioche sampler, starting with an i-cord cast on and testing out the basic brioche rib stitches before moving on to the increases and decreases used in the scarf to create the pattern.

As well as your class notes, you will take home a printout of the pattern by Susanne Sommer which includes detailed photo tutorials and a link to a video tutorial that you can use to refer to when making the full scarf at home.

The cost of the class includes:

  • sufficient aran weight yarn, in two colours, to create your swatch

  • a printout and download of Susanne Sommer’s pattern, so that you can make the full scarf at home

  • light refreshments and a buffet lunch (please let me know in advance of the day if you have any dietary requirements)

You will need to bring 5.0mm and 6.0 mm circular needles (40 or 60cm long). Needles will be available to purchase on the day if needed. Yarns suitable for the full scarf will be available to purchase on the day if desired.

Suitable for intermediate knitters. Not suitable for beginners.
