8 September – Baa-ble Breakfast and Knit-in

9.00am –1.00pm

Come and join us to make either the Baa-ble Hat or the Baa-ble Cowl both by designer Donna Smith. The hat was the official pattern for Shetland Wool Week 2015, an event held every year in Shetland to celebrate Shetland wool and it’s associated crafts.

They are knitted in Shetland Aran weight yarn at a fairly tight gauge making warm and cosy accessories, good for keeping you warm in the winter wind!

It is a quick knit and it makes an ideal introduction to Fair Isle / colour work knitting.

We will meet at the Running Fox at 9am to start with a hearty breakfast (please note the cost of breakfast is not included in the price) then move on up to Fine Fettle Fibres to choose our yarn and get started on our Baa-ble project.

The price includes:

  • 4 balls of Jamieson’s of Shetland Aran in the colours of your choice

  • purchase, print out and Ravelry download link for the pattern

  • help getting started with your hat

  • light refreshments at Fine Fettle Fibres

  • Please bring with you either a 40cm circular needle or DPNs in 4mm and 4.5mm size. Needles will be available to buy on the day if needed.

We will need to choose our breakfast in advance, so once you have booked your place, I will email you the menu. Please let me have your food choices so that I can notify The Running Fox. We will each pay for our own breakfast on the day.
