9 November – Slow Stitchin’ Blues

9 November – Slow Stitchin’ Blues

10.30 – 3.30 including buffet lunch and light refreshments during the class.

This introduction to contemporary Boro hand stitching on natural fabrics will be run by Lindsay Roberts aka The Border Tart.

Using a wide range of woven fabrics and a simple palette of thread shades, we will stitch a sampler size piece which participants may finish off at home as a framed work, padded table mat or feature panel in a larger item.

Most fabrics supplied will be in The Border Tart’s trademark blues but we will cover fabric choices and placement, stitching styles and layouts and alternative colour selections. We will use simple stitches, however more experienced stitchers may opt to embellish further.

The course includes:

  • All materials, but participants are welcome to bring their own needles, embroidery threads, scissors and fabric scraps if they wish.

  • Buffet lunch (please let me know in advance if you have any dietary requirements)

  • Light refreshments during the class

No prior experience or confidence required.
