12 May 2018 – Shetland Wool Week Hat Breakfast and Knit-in

12 May 2018 – Shetland Wool Week Hat Breakfast and Knit-in

9.00am –1.00pm

Come and join us to make a Merrie Dancers Toorie hat by this year's Shetland Wool Week patron, designer Elizabeth Johnston! This pattern, reminiscent of the Northern Lights (the 'merrie dancers' of the hat's title), is based on a fisherman's kep in the Shetland Museum and Archives Boat Hall.

We will start with a hearty breakfast at The Running Fox (please note the cost of breakfast is not included in the price) then move on up to Fine Fettle Fibres to choose our yarn and get started on our 2018 Shetland Wool Week Hat.

The price includes:

  • 4 balls of Jamieson & Smith 2ply jumper weight in the colours of your choice
  • a print out of the free pattern
  • help getting started with your hat
  • light refreshments at Fine Fettle Fibres

Please bring with you either a 40cm circular needle or DPNs in 3.5mm size. Needles will be available to buy on the day if needed.

We will need to choose our breakfast in advance so once you have booked your place, I will email you the menu. Please let me have your food choices so that I can notify The Running Fox. We will each pay for our own breakfast on the day.

There will be another opportunity to join in a Breakfast and Knit-in running on 9 June 2018 for those who can't make this date.
