This useful bag is super fun to make and an extremely useful fold-flat accessory!

Made from just 2 x 100gm skeins of Aran weight yarn, the base square is worked from a provisional cast-on and then the sides and handles are picked-up and knitted to create a completely seamless, neat bag. NO SEWING UP AT ALL!!

Inspired by the Japanese Bento bag, the sewn idea adapts to knitting perfectly and, by adding a button to the finished strap, the resulting bag is sturdy as a shoulder bag and secure when tied and held in the hand.
This is an excellent stash-busting pattern, as you could use different shades of yarn for each garter stitch panel. The design can very easily be sized up or down to make different sized bags, with yarn quantities being adjusted accordingly.
