BÉBÉ Soft Wash is a 21/22 micron, mulesing-free fine merino wool from South America. Kremke have successfully developed a super soft baby yarn with a chlorine-free Superwash treatment to create a pure wool yarn, which can be machine washed without felting.
Older Superwash yarns reduce the interlocking of the wool fibres by chemically changing the surface of them by means of chlorine and coating with a synthetic resin. Instead Kremke have replaced this process with a plasma treatment using enzymes. Plasma-treated wool is less susceptible to damage during finishing and has increased tear strength, improved grip and dyeability.
The plasma process means less pollution for the environment when compared with older methods involving chlorine. Wool treated in this way also meets the requirements of the Woolmark Company for the ‘Superwash’, ‘machine-washable’ or ‘easy-care’ label.
These straight needles are made of birch wood. Ideal for today’s chunky yarns, stitches glide with no snagging. Generous size end caps keep stitches firmly on needle. They are warm to the touch, and gentle in the hand.
