This unique top is quite simple to make because you only need to know three basic techniques - knit, purl and slip. Worked from the bottom up, two rectangles are worked with no shaping.
To make an interesting fabric without being complicated, some sections are knit with one strand of yarn, and other sections are knit with two strands of yarn held together. This produces a fabric where some sections are light, delicate and see-through, and other sections are textured and a bit more dense.
The sample is knit with two colours. The main colour is used throughout the project, and the contrast colour is used only in the sections where two strands of yarn are held together. If you prefer a more subtle look, you can use only one colour. Use two strands of the one colour held together for the sections where two strands of yarn are held together. If only one colour is used throughout, the knitted fabric is more textured.

Linseed is a luxury plant based blend made up of 60% linen, sourced from France and Belgium, and 40% cotton slub, sourced from Spain. When twisted together, these fibres make a strong and durable yarn perfect for knitting. It creates a light and drapey fabric with a rustic appearance.
Linseed also works very well knit double at a loose gauge.
Due to the nature of this natural slub yarn, movement may occur.
