  • Material: 100% Alpaca

  • Yardage: 400m/50g

  • Needle: 2-4 mm

  • Gauge: 24 = 10 cm

  • The yarn is made from 100% RAS-certified alpaca wool (CU 890756). Products certified according to the Responsible Alpaca Standard (RAS) contain alpaca wool fibers from farms that are independently certified according to animal welfare and land management requirements.

Svala by BC Garn – light, airy, and surprisingly versatile! Originally designed as a carry-along yarn, Svala can also be used on its own either singly or held double. Thanks to a special spinning technique, the soft alpaca fibres (21–23 microns) are spun into a fluffy yet structured thread. The result is a light and airy fibre that still provides stability and shape to your knitwear, all while maintaining the familiar softness of baby alpaca.

Spun and dyed in Peru, where the alpaca fibres are also sourced.

Malabrigo Mohair Lace Weight
£12.95

Mohair is a Lace weight base with 229 yards (210 m) per 25 g skein and is made up of 72% Mohair and 28% Silk.

The Mohair for this base is sourced in South Africa, from a bio-diversity-friendly, clean and ethically compliant mill.

Great for: Lace, shawls, scarves, lightweight garments. Works well double-stranded for accessories, garments, colour-work and combined with other yarns.

When we dye our yarns, the same formula is used each time but the differences from one batch to another can be very subtle, or extremely noticeable, specially on variegated yarns. Be sure to get enough yarn to complete your project and, to ensure random colour distribution, work from 2 balls at once, alternating every few rows.
