This is a classic cardigan in Worsted or plump DK yarn with interesting lines at the shoulder and a beautifully delicate cable pattern on the body.

It’s accented by bolder slipped stitches along the fronts, and the patterned body of the sweater is set off by simple stockinette sleeves and shoulders. These distinct, tailored shoulders show up beautifully in a heathered yarn, and the switch to stockinette makes knitting the shaping portion nice and easy!

The cardigan is knit from the bottom up and separated at underarms. You seam the shoulders together, and sleeves are picked up and worked down from underarm, with short row cap shaping. The buttton band is knit last. Cables are both written and charted.
