Weku Yarns Bukom DK

Weku Yarns Bukom DK

£9.50

Bukom DK by Weku Yarn has been developed by Game of Wool finalist Lydia and her sister Hannah.

Working with a mill in Yorkshire, they have developed a custom blend of Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) fleece and Corriedale fleece, to produce a soft yet durable DK weight yarn.

With this wonderful blend of fibres, Bukom DK is perfect for colourwork, cables and texture – from sweaters and cardigans to hats and shawls. The BFL adds a lovely sheen and drape, whilst the Corriedale adds a bounce to the yarn.

Once you finish your project make sure to wet block it with a small amount of wool wash as this will soften it and make it bloom.

There are 11 colours in the collection which have all been dyed to ensure consistency across your projects.

Hannah and Lydia, the two London-based sisters behind Weku yarn, are inspired by their Ghanaian heritage. The name ‘Weku’ means ‘Family’ in their father’s native language – Ga.
